Night Care at Home in Gateshead and Chester-le-Street
Nights can be the hardest part of caring for someone. Our trained night carers keep your loved one safe, comfortable and reassured until morning, so the whole family can finally get some rest.

What Is Night Care?
Night care means a trained carer stays in the home overnight to support someone who needs help, supervision or reassurance after dark. It can be a regular part of a care package, a few nights a week to give family carers a break, or a short-term arrangement after a hospital stay.
Every night care package is delivered under our CQC registration with a written care plan, risk assessments and night-time records, and our carers are backed by 24/7 on-call management throughout the shift.
Waking Night, Sleep-in or Live-in Care?
Waking night care
Your carer stays awake all night, checking on your loved one, helping with toileting, repositioning and medication, and responding immediately. Best for frequent or unpredictable night-time needs.
Sleep-in care
Your carer has a bed in the home, helps with settling and getting up, and is on hand if needed during the night. Best when someone wakes only occasionally.
Live-in care
One carer living in the home day and night. Best when support is needed throughout the day as well.
We will recommend the safest option at assessment and change it if night-time needs increase.

Safe, Well-Managed Night Shifts
Night carers are recruited through safer recruitment with enhanced DBS checks and trained in moving and handling, medication, safeguarding, dementia awareness and falls prevention. Every shift is recorded, and any concern is escalated immediately through our 24/7 on-call manager. Where risk levels require it, we can provide two carers overnight for double-up support.
You will always know who is coming, and we keep the same small team of night carers wherever possible.
